Beirut: Finance Minister Yassin Jaber held a series of important meetings on Monday, beginning with a session with Kuwait's Ambassador to Lebanon, Mohammad Sultan Al-Sharji, at the Ministry of Finance. The discussions revolved around strengthening Lebanese-Kuwaiti relations, with a particular focus on enhancing economic and financial cooperation between the two countries.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Minister Jaber also met with Jean Arnault, the Officer in Charge of the Office of the UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon. Their conversation focused on ongoing cooperation between the Ministry of Finance and UN agencies, including technical and institutional support programs designed to advance reforms and develop public financial management.
Later, Minister Jaber received French Ambassador to Lebanon, Herv© Magro, who was on a farewell visit marking the end of his diplomatic mission in the country. Jaber expressed his gratitude to Ambassador Magro for his contributions to Lebanon and acknowledged France's supportive role in various areas. He extended his best wishes for the Ambassador's future endeavors.
In addition to these diplomatic engagements, Jaber chaired a meeting on municipal affairs. The meeting was attended by key officials including Faten Abou Al Hessen, Director General of Local Administrations and Councils from the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities, Georges Al-Maarawi, Director General of Finance, and Rana Karam, Treasury Director from the Ministry of Finance. The discussions focused on financial and administrative issues facing municipalities and unions of municipalities. The meeting also explored mechanisms for effective follow-up and coordination between ministries to ensure smooth municipal operations and address current challenges.
