Beirut: Minister of Economy and Trade Dr. Amer Bisat affirmed from Baabda Palace that President Joseph Aoun's visit to Washington was successful both politically and economically.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Minister Bisat stated that he briefed President Aoun on the outcomes of his own visit to Syria, which served as a continuation of initiatives launched by the Prime Minister's earlier visit. The discussions in Syria focused on economic cooperation, investments, and the resolution of technical issues, especially those concerning border crossings. The developments in relations with the International Monetary Fund were also a key topic.
Bisat emphasized that since the beginning of the year, the Ministry of Economy has ramped up its monitoring efforts, conducting thousands of inspection tours and issuing hundreds of violation reports. These efforts have led to significant actions, including the referral of major violations to the judiciary, resulting in the closure of non-compliant establishments and the confiscation and destruction of goods that did not meet standards.
