Beirut: The UAE Government Cyber Security Council announced that national cybersecurity systems successfully detected and thwarted advanced, coordinated cyberattacks targeting the country's aviation, energy, and education sectors, as reported by the Emirates News Agency (WAM).
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the council stated that the attacks were managed proactively and immediately, with intrusion attempts contained before the attackers could disrupt critical systems and services. The attacks involved various vectors and methods, including attempts to breach systems, target operational accounts and data, launch phishing campaigns, and exploit users as entry points.
National cybersecurity teams effectively detected and blocked the malicious activity, traced its pathways and associated indicators of compromise, and implemented necessary technical measures to neutralize the threats and prevent their spread. The council emphasized that the national monitoring and response system operated at the highest level of readiness, implementing containment and protection measures as soon as the attacks were detected. These efforts prevented the attackers from achieving their objectives and preserved the security and continuity of the affected sectors.
