Beirut: President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, on Wednesday reviewed with MP Ibrahim Kanaan, Chairman of Parliament's Finance and Budget Committee, the latest developments, particularly the President's position on the Israeli attacks in the South and the anticipated negotiations in Rome, which may be preceded by an international preparatory conference in support of the Lebanese Army and Internal Security Forces. This conference is expected to serve as a clear indicator of the international community's level of support for the Lebanese state and its sovereignty over its territory. According to National news agency - Lebanon, MP Kanaan also briefed President Aoun on the legislative path for financial reforms, particularly following Parliament's approval of the banking reform law. He stressed the importance of restoring local and international confidence in Lebanon's banking system through a fair and responsible approach to Lebanese depositors' funds, clearly determining responsibilities, conducting a transparent audit of the figures, and establishing a mechanism for their recovery.
