New York:Prime Minister Nawaf Salam and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah held a meeting on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly. The discussion was attended by Foreign Minister Youssef Raggi and Saudi Foreign Minister's Adviser for Lebanese Affairs, Prince Yazid bin Mohammed bin Fahd bin Farhan.
According to National news agency - Lebanon, the meeting focused on strengthening bilateral relations between Lebanon and Saudi Arabia. A key outcome was the agreement to activate the Saudi-Lebanese Joint Committee, which Prime Minister Salam welcomed, particularly in light of the recent lifting of the ban on Lebanese exports to Saudi Arabia. This move is expected to pave the way for a new phase of economic and trade cooperation.
The talks also covered regional developments, with efforts aimed at reducing tensions and promoting security and stability. Prime Minister Salam briefed Prince Faisal bin Farhan on progress within the trilateral framework and emphasized the importance of establishing a clear timeline and mechanism to verify the implementation of commitments.
Prince Faisal bin Farhan praised the Lebanese government's efforts to maintain the integrity of the Lebanese state and its national institutions, which he noted were crucial for regional security and stability.
