Tyre:UNIFIL Chief of Staff, French General Marc Gallaud, visited the Greek Melkite Catholic Archbishop of Tyre, Metropolitan Georges Iskandar, at the Saint Thomas Archbishopric in Tyre. The meeting included a delegation of officers who accompanied General Gallaud.
According to National news agency - Lebanon, the discussions centered around the current conditions in the border villages and the situation of their residents. Both parties emphasized the crucial role of UNIFIL in the South and the necessity for maintaining peace and security to ensure that residents can continue living with dignity in their villages.
Archbishop Iskandar highlighted the local population's desire for stability and security, enabling them to stay on their land. The meeting concluded with an agreement on the importance of ongoing communication and cooperation to sustain stability in the region. General Gallaud expressed his gratitude to Archbishop Iskandar for the warm reception.
