Beirut:Finance Minister Yassine Jaber has announced that the deadline for companies and shareholders to convert bearer shares and shares to order into registered shares has been extended to December 6, 2026.
According to National news agency - Lebanon, The extension is in response to legal provisions that prohibit joint-stock companies and partnerships limited by shares from issuing bearer shares or shares to order. Companies that had previously issued such shares are required to convert them into registered shares within the legally specified deadlines.
The Finance Ministry noted that successive legislation had extended these conversion periods, and other laws had suspended legal, judicial, and contractual deadlines during certain times, necessitating a recalculation of the available timeframe. The ministry encourages companies and shareholders who have not yet regularized their status to take advantage of the new deadline and complete the necessary procedures.
