President Aoun Invited to Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, Holds Meetings with Various Delegations

Baabda:President Joseph Aoun has been invited by UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to attend the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week. The invitation was delivered by UAE Ambassador to Lebanon, Fahad Salem Saeed Al Kaabi, and includes participation in the Zayed Sustainability Prize awards ceremony and the summit, where President Aoun is scheduled to deliver a speech on January 12 and 13, 2027.

According to National news agency - Lebanon, in a series of meetings at Baabda Palace, President Aoun emphasized the government's duty to support municipalities, highlighting their essential role in serving the public and maintaining citizens' trust. He stated that while political parties enrich political life, they should not hinder state authority.

Energy and Water Minister Joe Saddi informed President Aoun of his reasons for not attending Cabinet sessions, while affirming his ongoing ministerial duties and expressing hope for a resolution to the issues he raised.

President Aoun also held discussions with MP Salim Sayegh about the general situation and various daily living concerns. Additionally, a delegation from the Union of Municipalities of the Batroun District, led by Roger Yazbek, engaged with President Aoun on regional needs and municipal matters.

In another meeting, President Aoun received SACEM Director General and CEO Cécile Rap-Veber along with a delegation. They discussed the importance of collaboration with Lebanon's Ministries of Information, Culture, and Economy to enhance results, considering Lebanon's cultural and artistic values.
