MP Ihab Matar and Australian Ambassador Tour Tripoli to Strengthen Ties

Tripoli:MP Ihab Matar hosted Australian Ambassador Tom Wilson for a comprehensive tour of Tripoli, focusing on the city's rich heritage, tourism potential, and the deep-rooted relationship between Lebanon and Australia.

According to National news agency - Lebanon, the tour included visits to significant landmarks such as the Tripoli Citadel, the old souks, the Grand Mansouri Mosque, Diwan Al-Nouri, and the Rashid Karami International Fair, as well as a boat trip around the islands off Mina.

During a luncheon attended by MPs, municipal officials, and local figures, MP Matar acknowledged Australia's development efforts in North Lebanon, especially in areas like Tripoli, Minyeh, Dinnieh, and Akkar.

Ambassador Wilson, on his first visit to the historic markets of Tripoli, noted the memorable experiences and interactions with Australian citizens, which underscored the strong ties between the city and Australia. He emphasized the century-long history of Lebanese migration to Australia, describing it as a success story and friendship, and committed to further enhancing bilateral relations during his tenure.
