Abi Al-Mona Congratulates Army Leadership on Army Day: Only National Unity Can Deter Brutal Aggression

Beirut: The Druze community leader, Sheikh Sami Abi Al-Mona, on Friday contacted Lebanese Armed Forces Commander General Rodolphe Haykal, Chief of Staff Major General Hassan Ouda, and Director of Intelligence Brigadier General Tony Kahwaji to congratulate them on the occasion of Army Day. Abi Al-Mona paid tribute to the army, saying he prayed that its commanders, officers, non-commissioned officers, and soldiers would continue to uphold national unity and strengthen their determination to defend Lebanon against any aggression while protecting its people, land, and dignity. According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Abi Al-Mona emphasized that the army is confronting "a brutal aggression, an expansionist ideology, and a criminal machine of destruction" that can only be deterred through national unity, the steadfastness of the military institution, and sustained international pressure to secure Israel's full withdrawal and reaffirm the state's sovereignty over all its territory and domains. He highlighted th e importance of the Lebanese Armed Forces remaining "the nation's protective shield, the guardian of its people's security and stability, and a source of strength, honor, and pride." Abi Al-Mona concluded by praying that God would protect Lebanon's army and keep it "united, steadfast, and fearless."
