ABU DHABI: The Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) has signed four strategic Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with LOCAI, Siemens Advanta, Core42, and Presight AI Technologies at GITEX Global 2024, aiming to bolster Abu Dhabi's technological infrastructure and drive innovation across various sectors. According to Emirates News Agency, the agreements were signed in a ceremony attended by Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa, Chairman of DMT, and other top officials. Dr. Saif Al Nasri from DMT highlighted the significance of these partnerships, stating that they would enhance infrastructure efficiency and durability through advanced technological solutions. These collaborations are expected to improve the quality of life in Abu Dhabi and maintain its status as a leader in urban progress. DMT's partnerships with LOCAI and Core42 will focus on developing smart city capabilities, big data, artificial intelligence, and supporting the department's cloud transformation. These initiatives will demonstrate the bene fits of the department's development projects through strategic application of modern models. Siemens Advanta will work with DMT to enhance operational efficiency and reduce energy consumption, integrating cutting-edge technologies into the Smart and Cognitive Cities program. This partnership aims to prepare Abu Dhabi's urban areas for future technological demands. Presight AI Technologies will collaborate with the Integrated Transport Centre of DMT to advance research, development, and implementation of AI in the mobility sector. This will include improvements in transportation efficiency and safety, and the development of solutions like traffic management systems, fleet management software, and EV charging infrastructure management. The agreement also emphasizes knowledge transfer, capacity building in AI, and the proposal of scalable pilot initiatives in transportation. These strategic MoUs mark a significant step in DMT's commitment to fostering innovation and sustainability, accelerating Abu Dhabi's j ourney towards becoming a smarter and more sustainable urban environment.
