Beirut: President of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture in Tripoli and the North, Toufic Dabboussi, on Wednesday welcomed Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Nizar Hani, and his accompanying delegation at the Chamber's headquarters. The meeting was also attended by the Chamber's Director General Linda Sultan and Director of the Quality Control Laboratories Khaled Al-Omari.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Dabboussi presented a comprehensive overview of the Chamber's investment projects and initiatives, highlighting the 'Agri Agro' program as a strategic agricultural project aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of farmers and exporters. He emphasized its role in opening new avenues for cooperation between the public and private sectors, both locally and internationally.
In response, Minister Hani expressed his appreciation for the advanced initiatives he witnessed during the visit. "Every time we visit Lebanon's chambers of commerce, we see in the Tripoli Chamber a model of modernity and innovation," he said, commending the projects based on artificial intelligence, advanced quality laboratories, and support for agribusinesses.
Hani reaffirmed the Ministry's ongoing collaboration with the Tripoli Chamber and other chambers across Lebanon, particularly in simplified agricultural outreach and education for farmers, and in improving services offered by business incubators and laboratories to strengthen the agricultural sector.
At the end of the visit, Hani toured several of the Chamber's key facilities, including the quality control laboratories, the Industrial Development and Agricultural Research Center, and the food innovation labs, where he was briefed on the advanced services provided to support agricultural development and promote high standards in production and quality control.
