Beirut: Lebanon's caretaker Public Works Minister, Ali Hamie, announced that the bridge connecting the towns of Kfar Toun and Akroum in the Akkar district, which was targeted by an Israeli airstrike on Saturday, has been repaired. The bridge, an essential infrastructure link in the region, experienced destabilization due to the strike. According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the airstrike had caused rocks to become unstable, necessitating clearing efforts by repair teams. Minister Hamie assured that the bridge would be accessible by the afternoon, restoring a crucial route for the local population. Hamie also mentioned that work on the Masnaa road, an official state road, is being coordinated with security and relevant authorities. The repairs will commence once security support is secured, indicating the ministry's readiness to address infrastructure damage as swiftly as possible. Additionally, the minister noted that caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati is actively engaging in diplomatic efforts to protect Lebanon's land and sea crossings from further Israeli attacks, highlighting the broader security concerns facing the nation.
