Al-Hajjar Hails Smooth Electoral Day with 44.59% Voter Turnout in Mount Lebanon

Beirut: Interior and Municipalities Minister Ahmad Al-Hajjar described today's long electoral day as a "national democratic celebration that brought together all Lebanese in Mount Lebanon's Governorate," noting that "the electoral process was smooth without any notable security issues."

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Al-Hajjar indicated that ballot boxes closed at 7:00 p.m., with the exception of centers where voters were still present. He added that the number of complaints was not huge, most of which were of an administrative nature. "We have referred those related to electoral bribes to the judiciary," he explained.

The Interior Minister revealed that the voting rate reached 44.59 percent in Mount Lebanon's Governorate, with the percentages in the districts as follows: 59.40% in Keserwan, 41.51% in Aley, 56.70% in Jbeil, 38.29% in Baabda, 37.91% in North Metn, and 44.82% in Chouf.

Al-Hajjar confirmed that the vote count process would be closely monitored in preparation for the announcement of the results. He said: "The counting process will be monitored from the operations room, and I am very satisfied with the smooth running of this long day. What is important is that this election was conducted on time, adhering to the constitutional deadlines."
