Baghdad The First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hassan Al-Kaabi, confirmed that the Iraqi-Jordanian relations did not witness during the past stages any state of coldness, God forbid, but it would have been greater and better had it not been for the reckless policies of the dictatorial Baath regime, which first destroyed his country and the size of foreign relations declined .
This came within the agenda of the visit conducted by a high-ranking Iraqi parliamentary delegation headed by Al-Kaabi, at an official invitation from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, to discuss matters related to the mechanisms of developing economic relations and the possibility of Arab companies contributing to reconstruction projects and benefiting from the valid agreements signed between Iraq and Jordan, especially what the Baghdad’s last tripartite Summit concluded.
He also discussed the size of the great development in the legal and legislative system in Iraq, which adopted the modern democratic system and proceeded to legislate many laws applied by the most advanced countries in the field of the democratic system, including the laws of freedom of expression, the right to information, freedom of the media and other legislation.
The importance of holding early elections under international supervision in a manner that will restore the citizen’s confidence in his political system was also discussed, as was the importance of raising the volume of trade exchange between the two countries, which witnessed a decline during the last period due to the outbreak of the Corona epidemic, in addition to cooperation between the two countries in the industrial and agricultural sectors, as well as on the level of cooperation between universities and research centers.
