Al-Kadhimi Chairs A Meeting Of The Ministerial Council For National Security/ More

Baghdad The Ministerial Council for National Security held, today, Wednesday, a meeting chaired by the Prime Minister, Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, Mustafa Al-Kadhimi, during which they discussed the latest developments in the progress of security operations and the intelligence effort in pursuing the remnants of ISIS terrorist gangs.

A statement from the Prime Minister’s Office said, “At the beginning of the meeting, the council studied the security situation in al-Tarmiyah district, north of the capital, Baghdad, and the operations to pursue terrorist cells that are trying to tamper with the security of citizens in the district.

Al-Kadhimi stressed the importance of intensifying intelligence and security efforts as the date for the parliamentary elections approaches in order to ensure its success in all centers, and to ensure the success of the electoral process.

The Council also discussed the efforts made for the protection of electric power transmission towers.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces followed up the details of the security measures and precautions taken, as well as the intelligence work accompanying these security operations to ensures the preservation of the infrastructure that provides services to citizens, and the terrorist elements trying to sabotage them will not escape, and will brought to justice.
