Bkerki: Maronite Patriarch, Cardinal Mar Bechara Boutros Al-Rahi, received a series of visitors at the patriarchal seat in Bkerki on Wednesday. Amongst the visitors was Father Abdo Eid, head of Ain Toura School, who was accompanied by a group of priests, followed by Monsignor Maroun Kiwan, who came to extend well wishes upon the patriarch's recovery.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Patriarch Al-Rahi also held a meeting with the Director of Private Education at the Ministry of Education, Imad Al-Ashqar, and Sister Basma Al-Khoury. The discussions primarily revolved around issues pertinent to Lebanon's educational sector.
Later in the day, the Patriarch welcomed a delegation from the committee overseeing the 'Mar Charbel Trail' project. The delegation, which included Daniel Jaara, Dr. Youssef Al-Hajj, and Edouard Barje, briefed him on the progress of the pilgrimage path. This trail, which was launched last year with Al-Rahi's blessing, is nearing completion.
The delegation announced that the inauguration of the completed 60-km trail, which stretches from Annaya to the Monastery of Saint Anthony of Qozhaya, is scheduled for July 20. This event will take place under the patronage of Al-Rahi, highlighting the dedication of Lebanese citizens and expatriates who contributed to the project. The initiative is spearheaded by the Darb Al-Sama Association in memory of the late Father Simon El-Zend.
Additionally, among the day's visitors was Fadi Romanos, a member of the Maronite Foundation in the World, who visited alongside his wife to inquire about the patriarch's health.
