Aoun Arrives in Oman on Two-Day Official Visit

Muscat: President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, on Tuesday arrived in Muscat at the head of an official Lebanese delegation, marking the start of a two-day state visit to the Sultanate of Oman. Aoun was received at the Sultan's Airport by Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, along with senior Omani officials including Deputy Prime Minister for Defense Affairs Shihab bin Tariq Al Said and several cabinet ministers.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Lebanon's newly appointed ambassador to Oman, Majdi Ramadan, also greeted the President upon arrival. Following the initial reception, the two heads of state proceeded between honor guards to the airport's reception hall and then onward to Al-Alam Palace for the official welcoming ceremony and bilateral talks.

In a statement upon landing, President Aoun expressed his 'delight' at visiting Oman, highlighting the 'deep, historic ties' between the two countries. He emphasized that the visit aims to strengthen cooperation across economic, trade, investment, cultural, and educational fields. Aoun praised Oman's 'wise and balanced regional role' under Sultan Haitham's leadership and reaffirmed Lebanon's appreciation for the Sultanate's continued support.

President Aoun added that Lebanon seeks to open 'new horizons of partnership' and is looking forward to outcomes that will 'serve both nations and contribute to regional stability.'
