Beirut: President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, on Wednesday congratulated the General Directorate of General Security on its 80th anniversary, expressing pride in the institution's decades-long role as a pillar of Lebanon's security and stability.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the President hailed the directorate's efforts in safeguarding Lebanon's borders and regulating the movement of people across land, sea, and air. He commended its contributions to national security and its sacrifices, praising its coordination with the army and other security forces.
President Aoun reaffirmed the state's full support for the General Directorate's mission, emphasizing its importance in managing border crossings and facilitating refugee returns. The acknowledgment underlines the critical role of the directorate in maintaining national security and stability.
