Beirut: President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, on Monday told U.N. Tourism Secretary-General Shaikha Nasser Al Nowais that Lebanon remains, despite the difficult circumstances it has endured, a destination of choice for Arab and foreign tourists because of its distinctive attributes. Aoun said the Lebanese state is working to develop the tourism sector alongside other sectors that constitute pillars of the national economy.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the President's remarks underscore the resilience and continued appeal of Lebanon as a tourist destination, even amidst challenging times. The tourism sector is seen as a key component of Lebanon's economic recovery, with efforts to enhance and diversify the industry being prioritized by the government.
Separately, Beirut Bar Association President Imad Martinos expressed the association's support for state legitimacy and institutions during a visit to Baabda Palace. Martinos affirmed the association's backing of the presidency's decisions and conveyed optimism regarding the ongoing Rome negotiations. He highlighted the association's hope for the negotiations to accomplish key objectives, including the return of prisoners, Israel's withdrawal, and the extension of state authority across all Lebanese territory.
