Baabda: President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, on Friday held a series of meetings at Baabda Palace, where officials underscored the need for national unity, strengthened state authority and urgent humanitarian action.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Administrative Development Minister Fadi Makki emphasized that the country must prioritize confronting ongoing Israeli attacks, supporting displaced citizens, and reinforcing civil peace through dialogue. These discussions aim to address immediate threats and foster long-term stability.
MP Michel Daher pointed out the mounting economic pressures faced by the nation, exacerbated by displacement and rising global oil prices. These factors contribute to the economic strain on the country, necessitating strategic planning and intervention to alleviate the burden on citizens.
Nicolas Von Arx raised alarms about the rapidly deteriorating humanitarian conditions, highlighting issues such as large-scale displacement and continued civilian suffering. He reiterated the importance of ongoing relief efforts and support for healthcare services to mitigate the crisis and provide essential assistance to those in need.
