Marjayoun: The Lebanese Army announced the arrest of a suspect involved in the shooting of Deir Mimas Mayor Souheil Abou Jamra, who was fatally shot on June 1, 2026. The incident took place in the Marjayoun district, where the mayor was killed, and the town's mukhtar sustained injuries.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the suspect has been identified by the initials F.B. Following the shooting, army units swiftly intervened, conducted a raid, and apprehended the alleged gunman. An investigation is currently underway under the supervision of the appropriate judicial authorities.
