Beirut: Lebanon's Army Command announced in a statement that "On October 8, 2025, Army Commander General Rodolphe Haykal began a two-day visit to the State of Qatar at the official invitation of the Chief of Staff of the Qatari Armed Forces, Lieutenant General (Pilot) Jassim bin Mohammed Al Mana'i, aimed at strengthening cooperation between the Lebanese and Qatari armed forces amid current challenges."
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, General Haykal met with Qatar's Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani. The Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs affirmed Qatar's continued support for the Lebanese state institutions, the Lebanese army, and the brotherly Lebanese people. General Haykal expressed his gratitude for Qatar's unconditional support at all levels.
The Army Commander also met with Qatari Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan Al Thani. Discussions covered the latest developments in Lebanon and the region, the missions undertaken by the Lebanese army to preserve Lebanon's security and stability across various Lebanese regions, its missions in the south, and its cooperation with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL). They also discussed the army's efforts to implement the cessation of hostilities agreement.
General Haykal began his visit by meeting with the Chief of Staff of the Qatari Armed Forces, Lieutenant General (Pilot) Jassim bin Mohammed Al Mannai, at the Qatari Ministry of Defense. The discussions touched on developing cooperation between the two countries' armed forces at various levels, and ways to support the Lebanese military institution in light of the critical circumstances facing Lebanon.
