Amman: Chief of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Ahmed Huneiti visited the Al-Hussein Main Workshops Command of the Royal Maintenance Corps on Monday, where he was briefed on the operations and acknowledged the unit’s pivotal role in supporting the armed forces.
According to Jordan News Agency, Huneiti was welcomed by the Director of the Corps and the Commander of the Workshops upon his arrival. During his visit, he received detailed briefings on the diverse tasks and duties of the workshops, highlighting their crucial role in maintaining and modernizing military equipment and vehicles. This process is vital for enhancing the combat capabilities of the armed forces, enabling them to effectively perform under various field conditions.
In the presence of several senior army officers, Huneiti toured the Production and Restoration Division. He was informed about the processes involved in rebuilding and restoring the Al-Hussein tank among other weapons. The focus was on the rehabilitation of equipment
and mechanisms to boost operational efficiency while ensuring economic feasibility and reliability.
The army chief praised the Royal Maintenance Corps Directorate for its professionalism and advanced achievements in military manufacturing and maintenance. He emphasized that these efforts are significant in facing current challenges and conducting missions efficiently. Huneiti also noted the importance of the corps’ readiness to handle various scenarios and future challenges.
The Al Hussein Main Workshops, inaugurated on May 8, 1985, spans an area of 1200 dunums and features an integrated infrastructure with specialized modern industrial equipment, machines, and systems. These facilities are crucial for the maintenance, development, modification, and reconstruction of numerous armored vehicles and systems used by the armed forces.
