Beirut: Lebanese Army Commander General Rodolphe Haykal, on Thursday received at his Yarzeh office, the Chief of Staff of the Irish Defence Forces, Major General Rossa Mulcahy, at the head of a delegation.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, discussions reportedly touched on the general situation in Lebanon and the region, in light of current developments. The discussion also covered ways to strengthen cooperation between the armies of the two countries, and the role of the Irish contingent operating within the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).
General Mulcahy laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in the Ministry of Defense courtyard, in the presence of the Army Commander and a number of command officers.
