Beirut: The Army Command - Directorate of Orientation has released a statement regarding the ceremonial activities planned for the visit of His Holiness Pope Leo XIV. A unit from the Lebanese Army is scheduled to fire ceremonial blank artillery rounds on November 30, 2025, at approximately 15:45 in the Ouzai-Baabda area. This event will coincide with the Pope's arrival at Rafic Hariri International Airport in Beirut. An earlier test blank round is set to be fired at 11:30. According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the ceremonial gunfire is part of the traditional welcome extended to distinguished guests visiting Lebanon. The Lebanese Army has coordinated this event to ensure a smooth and respectful reception for the Pope. This visit marks an important occasion for the country, reflecting the significance of the Pope's presence in Lebanon.
