Awqaf Ministry works on launching digital platform

Awqaf Minister Osama Azhary said President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has directed to create an electronic platform for the ministry under a new strategy to renew religious discourse. Azhary's remarks came on Thursday at a meeting with Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat at the Awqaf Ministry's headquarters in the New Administrative Capital to discuss a number of issues of common interest and sign a cooperation protocol between the two ministries. The platform aims to serve citizens, defuse ideological tension, put an end to seditions and combat terrorism and extremism, among others, Azhary said. For his part, Talaat said there are several cooperation projects between the two ministries with a view to providing the Awqaf Ministry with technological support and spreading moderate thoughts among people.
