Banque BEMO and Partners Announce Winners of Photo Contest Honoring Georges Hayek

Tripoli:The winning photographs of "Through Georges' Lens," a photography contest in memory of Georges Hayek, were unveiled during a tribute ceremony at ESA Business School. This event, held one year after Hayek's passing, was organized by Banque BEMO, ESA Business School, the Institute for Finance and Governance (IFG), and the Club de la Gouvernance.

According to National news agency - Lebanon, the tribute gathered colleagues, friends, and partners to honor Georges Hayek, who was the Corporate Secretary of Banque BEMO and Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Club de la Gouvernance. The contest was open exclusively to employees, students, and alumni of Banque BEMO and ESA Business School, emphasizing the belief that sincere tributes begin within one's community.

Maxence Duault, Director General of ESA Business School, initiated the evening with remarks tying the event to the school's 30th anniversary. He highlighted the school's dedication to art, creativity, and shared values, expressing hope for future collaborations with Banque BEMO. Dr. Riad Obegi, Chairman and General Manager of Banque BEMO, spoke about the importance of connection through themes of diplomacy, art, and memory, thanking participants, the jury, and partners for their contributions.

Hadi El-Assaad, Advisor to the General Director of ESA Business School, reflected on Hayek's role in the Club de la Gouvernance, praising his humility and human qualities. He concluded his address with a heartfelt farewell to his friend.

Testimonials from Georges Hayek's colleagues and friends, including Dina Bou Saba, Nathalie Makhoul, and Ouncy Nassif, provided personal insights into his life and passion for photography. Mrs. Claudine Feghaly, Executive Director of Banque BEMO, presented the event.

The ceremony concluded with the announcement of the contest winners, judged by Marie-No«lle Fattal, Nada Karam, and Eddy Bitar. The top 20 photographs were recognized without ranking, followed by the announcement of the four winning entries. Nada Attieh won first prize, followed by Katia Boueri, Assaad Karam, and Rosaline Chamieh. Attendees were then invited to view the exhibition of the top photographs, on display until September 30 at ESA Business School.

Through "Through Georges' Lens," Banque BEMO aims to honor institutional memory, nurture talent, and promote initiatives that unite culture, governance, and human values, ensuring Georges Hayek's legacy remains vibrant.
