Bassil Commences Baalbek Visit with Stop at Saydet Al-Maounat Monastery

Baalbek: Free Patriotic Movement leader MP Gebran Bassil began his visit to Baalbek with a stop at the Saydet Al-Maounat Monastery, where he participated in a thanksgiving prayer and received a briefing from Father Charbel Trad about the monastery's historical and communal significance.

According to National news agency - Lebanon, Father Trad emphasized the monastery's role as a symbol of coexistence between Christians and Muslims, noting its frequent visits by Imam Musa al-Sadr during his trips to the city. He also recounted the monastery's efforts in providing shelter to many from Baalbek-Hermel during recent conflicts, offering refuge to all without discrimination amidst ongoing shelling.

Bassil concluded his visit by signing the monastery's guest book, marking the end of this significant stop on his Baalbek tour.
