Bassil Warns Against Sectarian Strife in Syria, Calls for Action to Stop Bloodshed

Beirut: Head of the Free Patriotic Movement, MP Gebran Bassil, on Monday questioned the motives behind fueling sectarian strife in Syria, writing on X platform: "What is the goal of igniting sedition in Syria, and what remains of religion if it becomes a pretext for killing?"

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Bassil described Syria as the heart of the Arab Levant's civilization, stressing that preserving its social fabric is the responsibility of the state. Bassil condemned the ongoing violence as a horrific crime that no religion permits, urging all nations to take responsibility in stopping the bloodshed.
