Cairo, May 27 (BNA): Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) Chairman, Sameer Abdulla Nass, has stressed the importance of the deep-rooted economic relations between Bahrain and Egypt, noting that the partnership between the two brotherly countries is strategic and growing steadily at all levels.
He also said that the trade and investment relations between the two countries are slated for more progress, in light of the economic boom currently witnessed by them.
BCCI chief was speaking while meeting here the Chief Executive Officer of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI), Mohamed Abdel-Wahab, on the sidelines of BCCI’s delegation’s visit to Cairo to attend the Arab Entrepreneurship Rally, launched recently under the patronage of the Arab League.
Nass affirmed that the business community appreciates Egypt and has been connected to it through many successful investment experiences, noting that the economic renaissance of Egypt is also a renaissance for Bahrain and the Arab nation. He also expressed admiration for the economic and urban progress boom currently witnessed by Egypt.
He expressed BCCI’s readiness to increase its coordination with the relevant Egyptian authorities to promote the positive developments witnessed by the investment atmosphere in Egypt, commensurate with the needs of the business community in Bahrain.
He indicated that the investment atmosphere in the kingdom is fertile, and boasts many attracting and encouraging elements in the trade, investment and industrial sectors.
The two sides held a meeting at the GAFI headquarters, and discussed the mechanisms to broaden cooperation between the two countries across various economic fields.
They reviewed the investment opportunities in each country, as well as ways to broaden bilateral partnership and increase the volume of trade exchange between the two countries.
The two sides agreed to intensify exchanged visits to attract Bahraini investments to Egypt and Egyptian investments to Bahrain, stressing the importance of taking advantage of the distinguished brotherly relations between His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to ensure more openness between the two countries’ markets.
Egypt’s GAFI chief said that his country seeks to attract more Bahraini investments through intensifying contacts with mega Bahraini companies.
He reviewed the incentives offered by Egypt to investors. He also highlighted the available investment opportunities for international and regional companies, including the Bahraini ones.
