Beirut: The Beirut Governorate's Disaster and Crisis Management Room announced in a statement that "Beirut Governor Judge Marwan Abboud gave his immediate directives to the emergency teams of the Beirut Municipality, in addition to the firefighting, ambulance, and rescue teams of the Beirut Fire Brigade, to proceed immediately, each within their respective areas, to the targeted sites, following the brutal Israeli attack that struck a number of populated areas and neighborhoods in the capital, Beirut, resulting in fatalities and a large number of injuries."
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the statement pointed out that "the specialized teams have, from the very first moments, begun working on removing debris, retrieving the bodies of the martyrs, extinguishing fires that broke out, as well as providing first medical aid to the injured and searching for potential survivors under the rubble."
The statement also noted that "the Governor of Beirut is continuously monitoring the progress of operations on the ground, supervising the coordination of efforts and ensuring rapid and effective response." The statement added, "In parallel, the Beirut Guard Brigade, with the support of Beirut Police of the Internal Security Forces, facilitated traffic movement to ensure that ambulance, rescue, and firefighting vehicles reach the targeted locations as quickly as possible."
The Disaster Management Room urged citizens "not to gather near the affected sites, for their own safety and to allow medical and relief teams to carry out their duties to the fullest extent."
