Beirut’s Southern Suburbs Strike Prompts Call for Unity and State Support

Salam: The recent attack on Beirut's southern suburbs has led Prime Minister Nawaf Salam to urge for a collective rallying of efforts around the state and its institutions. "Today's attack on Beirut's southern suburbs necessitates uniting all efforts behind the state and its institutions," Salam stated on the "X" platform.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Salam emphasized the government's commitment to protecting the Lebanese people and preventing the nation from descending into perilous situations. He highlighted that safeguarding the citizens and maintaining national stability are the government's top priorities during these challenging times.

Salam assured that the government is actively engaging with both regional and international allies through political and diplomatic avenues to safeguard the Lebanese populace. The government's efforts are directed towards preventing further escalation, halting Israeli aggression, ensuring its withdrawal from Lebanese territory, and securing the release of prisoners.

He further stressed that the path to lasting stability is through the complete implementation of Resolution 1701. This includes extending the state's authority over all its territories using its forces and empowering the Lebanese army to fulfill its responsibilities effectively.
