Berri Calls for Joint Parliamentary Committee Session on Thursday

Beirut: House Speaker Nabih Berri on Tuesday called the parliamentary committees of Administration and Justice, Information and Communications, and Human Rights to a joint session at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2026. The session will focus on two significant agenda items.

According to National news agency - Lebanon, the first item on the agenda is the continuation of the review of the proposed Media Law. This proposed law has been a subject of considerable discussion in previous sessions, and its review is expected to continue in this upcoming meeting.

The second item on the agenda is the proposed law to abolish the death penalty in Lebanon. This proposal has been a critical topic among lawmakers and human rights activists, and its discussion is anticipated to draw attention during the session.
