Beirut: House Speaker Nabih Berri chaired a meeting of the Parliament Bureau on Tuesday, which included his deputy, MP Elias Bou Saab, and other key parliament members. The session focused on finalizing the agenda for an upcoming general legislative session. Speaker Berri has scheduled this session for Thursday at 11:00 a.m., emphasizing its importance for debating significant projects and proposed laws.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, MP Bou Saab highlighted that municipal and mayoral elections would proceed as planned. Following the meeting, Speaker Berri confirmed that the legislative session aims to address pressing legislative matters set for April 24, 2025.
In addition to the parliamentary meeting, Speaker Berri welcomed Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council of the United Arab Emirates, along with his delegation, at Ain Al-Tineh. The visit included an official reception and discussions on Lebanon-UAE relations. These discussions emphasized strengthening bilateral ties, especially in the legislative sector, and included talks on cooperation between the two countries' parliaments.
The event concluded with a luncheon hosted by Speaker Berri in honor of his Emirati counterpart, underscoring the importance of continued collaboration and dialogue between Lebanon and the UAE.
