Beirut: House Speaker Nabih Berri met with Egyptian Ambassador to Lebanon, Alaa Moussa, at the Second Presidency headquarters in Ain al-Tineh. Their discussions focused on recent developments in Lebanon and the broader region, as well as the latest political and field updates.
According to National news agency - Lebanon, Ambassador Moussa highlighted the significance of the meeting as part of his regular engagements with Speaker Berri. He underscored the importance of briefing Berri on the evolving situation in the region, emphasizing Egypt's ongoing efforts to mitigate tensions and promote dialogue, especially concerning the situation between the United States and Iran.
Ambassador Moussa also conveyed the importance of addressing issues in Lebanon. He reiterated Speaker Berri's consistent call for a complete cessation of Israeli attacks on Lebanese territory, advocating for a full withdrawal and the return of displaced residents. The discussions also touched on launching the reconstruction process in Lebanon to restore stability and normalcy.
Furthermore, Ambassador Moussa assured that Egypt is committed to supporting Lebanon in stopping Israeli aggressions and enabling the Lebanese state to exercise its authority across its entire territory.
