Berri Discusses Regional Developments with UN High Commissioner, Bids Farewell to Swedish Ambassador

Beirut: House Speaker Nabih Berri engaged in a series of diplomatic meetings on Monday, welcoming UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk and his delegation at the second presidency headquarters in Ain al-Tineh. The discussions focused on the ongoing developments in Lebanon and the broader region, with particular emphasis on field updates, the impact of Israeli attacks, and issues related to displaced persons.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the meeting was attended by the OHCHR's Regional Representative for the Middle East and North Africa, Mazen Shaqoura. The discussions aimed to address critical humanitarian concerns and potential measures for alleviating the region's challenges.

In a separate engagement, Speaker Berri received Swedish Ambassador to Lebanon, Jessica Sv¤rdstr¶m, who visited to bid farewell at the conclusion of her diplomatic mission. Their meeting offered an opportunity to reflect on the general situation and the state of bilateral relations between Lebanon and Sweden.

Additionally, Speaker Berri held talks with Judge Osama Mneimneh, the Head of the Judicial Inspection Authority, further underscoring his active involvement in addressing key judicial matters within the country.
