Beirut: House Speaker Nabih Berri engaged in a series of meetings at the second presidency headquarters in Ain al-Tineh, where he hosted former Iraqi Prime Minister Dr. Iyad Allawi. The discussions centered around recent developments in Lebanon and the broader region, along with Lebanese-Iraqi relations.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Speaker Berri also conferred with Public Health Minister Dr. Rakan Nasser El-Din. Their discussions focused on the state of the healthcare and hospital sectors, as well as the ongoing initiatives of the Ministry of Public Health.
In another meeting, Berri met with Bahia Hariri, Deputy President of the Future Movement and Chairwoman of the Hariri Foundation, alongside former Sidon Municipality Head, Engineer Mohammad Saoudi. The trio discussed political developments, as well as national and developmental issues.
Additionally, Berri welcomed Gracia Azzi, the newly appointed Director-General of Customs, who visited in a gesture of courtesy.
In light of the holy month of Ramadan, Berri received congratulatory cables from Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Speaker of the Iranian Shura Council Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, and former Prime Minister Saad Hariri.
