Berri Engages in Key Discussions at Ain el-Tineh, Schedules Parliamentary Session for Elections

BEIRUT: House Speaker Nabih Berri met with various political figures at his office in Ain El Tineh, engaging in discussions on Lebanon's political landscape and the situation of displaced individuals. This series of meetings comes as Lebanon continues to face significant challenges both domestically and internationally. According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Speaker Berri welcomed a delegation from the "Kulluna Li Beirut" Gathering, led by former Minister Mohammed Choucair. Their discussions encompassed the country's general state, political developments, and the ongoing issues related to displaced persons. These talks underscore the complexity of Lebanon's current socio-political environment. Berri also held a meeting with Mohammed Hout, the chairman of Middle East Airlines (MEA). Their conversation focused on MEA's operational challenges and its vital role in maintaining Lebanon's connectivity with the global community. This dialogue highlights the strategic importance of MEA in Lebanon's broader ec onomic framework. Furthering these discussions, Berri met with former Minister Joseph Al-Hashem to delve into the general situation and political developments. These engagements reflect Berri's active role in addressing Lebanon's multifaceted crises. In addition to these meetings, Berri announced a parliamentary session scheduled for Tuesday at 11 a.m., in line with Article 44, Paragraph 2 of the Constitution, and Article 3 of the Parliament's internal regulations. The session's agenda includes the election of two secretaries and three commissioners, as well as the election of members to parliamentary committees, as outlined in Article 19 of the internal regulations.
