Berri Engages with Diplomats and Receives Independence Messages from Russian Officials

Beirut: House Speaker Nabih Berri recently held a series of diplomatic meetings at his Ain al-Tineh residence, engaging with both local and international figures. Among those he met was former President Michel Sleiman, with whom Berri discussed the current political developments and the overall situation in the country. Sleiman expressed gratitude to Berri for extending condolences after the passing of his wife's father, Emil Farid Sleiman.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Speaker Berri also welcomed the newly appointed U.S. Ambassador to Lebanon, Michel Issa. Issa's visit was part of the customary protocol upon assuming his new diplomatic role. The meeting was attended by the Charg© d'Affaires of the US Embassy in Beirut, Keith Hanigan, and Berri's Media Advisor, Ali Hamdan. Discussions included an overview of the general situation in Lebanon.

In another diplomatic engagement, Berri met with Russian Ambassador to Lebanon, Alexander Rudakov. The ambassador delivered congratulatory messages on the occasion of Lebanon's Independence Day from Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, and Valentina Matvienko, Speaker of the Federation Council. The meeting focused on the current developments in Lebanon and the region, as well as the bilateral relations between Lebanon and Russia.
