Berri Engages With Saudi and US Ambassadors, Meets Caretaker Ministers of Sports, Youth, and Industry.

BEIRUT: House Speaker Nabih Berri held discussions with the Saudi and US Ambassadors at his Ain El Tineh office on Wednesday. Berri engaged with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Lebanon, Walid Bukhari, to discuss the general situation, political developments, and issues related to displaced persons. This meeting formed part of a series of diplomatic engagements by Berri aimed at addressing ongoing regional and local challenges. According to National news agency - Lebanon, Berri also met with Lisa Johnson, the US Ambassador to Lebanon, to deliberate on the current political environment and its developments. These discussions are seen as pivotal in maintaining diplomatic relations and exploring potential solutions to Lebanon's political situation. In addition to these diplomatic meetings, Berri also received visits from caretaker ministers. Dr. George Kallas, the Caretaker Minister of Youth and Sports, expressed his support for Berri's recent stances. Kallas emphasized the importance of haltin g the war, electing a president, and implementing UN Resolution 1701 as outlined in the Ain al-Tineh statement. Minister George Bouchikian, the Caretaker Industry Minister, discussed his plans to develop an industrial rescue strategy aligned with current needs. He highlighted the significance of dialogue as a means to achieve an internal political solution and facilitate the election of a president for the republic.
