Beirut: House Speaker Nabih Berri on Thursday met with UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon, Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert, at the second presidency headquarters in Ain El-Tineh. Discussions focused on the general situation and political and field developments, particularly concerning Israel's ongoing actions in southern Lebanon and its breach of Resolution 1701 and the ceasefire agreement.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Speaker Berri also held talks with Asaad Hardan, head of the Syrian Social Nationalist Party and former minister. The discussions revolved around the general developments in Lebanon and the broader region. Hardan emphasized the importance of national unity in addressing challenges.
Additionally, Speaker Berri received a congratulatory message from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr. In his message, President Al-Sisi expressed wishes for further development and prosperity for the peoples of the Arab and Islamic nations.
Former Prime Minister Saad Hariri also sent a similar congratulatory message to Speaker Berri, marking the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr.
