Beirut: House Speaker Nabih Berri engaged in discussions with key political figures at the Second Presidency headquarters in Ain el-Tineh. On Wednesday, Berri received Brigadier General Andr© Rahal, who serves as an advisor to President Joseph Aoun. Their meeting reportedly focused on the current general situation and the latest political developments.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Speaker Berri also met with former Minister Wadih Khazen. Their discussions revolved around the latest political developments, the upcoming parliamentary elections, and general affairs. Following the meeting, Khazen relayed Speaker Berri's emphasis on respecting constitutional entitlements as crucial to protecting the democratic system, particularly regarding the parliamentary elections, which are to proceed as scheduled under the constitution.
Khazen further highlighted the importance of internal solidarity during this period, stressing adherence to constitutional and national principles. He advocated for working with a spirit of statehood and shared responsibility to strengthen Lebanon and guide it back to a path of recovery and stability.
Also attending meetings with Speaker Berri was Public Prosecutor Judge Jamal Hajjar, among other visitors.
