Beirut: Marking the occasion of "Resistance and Liberation Day," House Speaker Nabih Berri paid tribute to those who responded to the call of the land and the people 25 years ago, sacrificing their possessions through steadfastness, resistance, and martyrdom in defense of the homeland and its sovereignty.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Berri extended his salute to the resistance fighters and martyrs who chose to sacrifice themselves at pivotal moments. He highlighted their achievements in repelling Israeli aggression, preserving sovereignty, and liberating most of the land from occupation, marking May 25, 2000, as a day of victory and liberation for Lebanon.
Berri also praised those who have contributed to development and loyalty, achieving a national constitutional entitlement in a civilized manner, as demonstrated by the people of the South. He offered congratulations to Lebanon and its citizens on Liberation Day, acknowledging their greatness in both resistance and democracy.
The Speaker concluded by expressing gratitude to the Southerners for their steadfastness and unwavering commitment to development and loyalty.
