House Speaker, Nabih Berri, on Monday welcomed at the Second Presidency in Ein El-Tineh, Germany’s State Secretary of the Federal Foreign Office, Miguel Berger, accompanied by German Ambassador to Lebanon, Andreas Kindl, and First Secretary for Political Affairs at the Embassy, Martin Leeser, with whom he discussed the general situation and the bilateral relations between the two countries.
Speaker Berri also met with the United Nations Under-Secretary General for Peace Operations, Jean-Pierre Lacroix, accompanied by UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon, Joanna Wronecka, and UNIFIL Head of Mission and Force Commander, Major General Stefano Del Col.
Berri also received a delegation of the French Senate, chaired by Christine Lavarde and accompanied by French Ambassador to Lebanon Anne Grillo.
Discussions reportedly touched on the current general situation and the bilateral Lebanese-French relations.
