Berri Thanks Qalibaf for Iran’s Efforts in Ending Conflict

Beirut: House Speaker Nabih Berri received today a phone call from Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, during which they discussed developments in Lebanon and the wider region, particularly Israel's continued attacks in southern Lebanon.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, both Speakers highlighted Israel's violation of the first provision of the Iran-US memorandum of understanding, which calls for ending the war on all fronts, including Lebanon, and for Israel's withdrawal from occupied Lebanese territory to the internationally recognized border within the agreed 60-day timeframe.

Qalibaf reaffirmed Iran's commitment to intensifying efforts with regional and international parties overseeing the memorandum to ensure Israel implements the agreement and ends military operations in Lebanon.

He stated that "the technical committee tasked with following up on the implementation of the memorandum of understanding, in which Iran, the United States of America and Lebanon are participating, must begin its work to discuss and follow up on field-related arrangements, particularly in Lebanon."
