Beirut: Marking the first anniversary of the martyrdom of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, House Speaker Nabih Berri delivered a heartfelt tribute reflecting on the legacy and sacrifice of the Hezbollah party leader.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Berri addressed the late Sayyed Nasrallah, describing him as a companion along the path and an ever-present spirit. He evoked the memory of Nasrallah as someone whose spirit was likened to Karbala'i, drawing parallels to the blood of Hussein and the patience of Zainab. Berri quoted Nasrallah's voice as echoing the sentiment that standing against falsehood, even at the cost of martyrdom, constitutes a victory akin to that of Hussain.
Berri emphasized that Nasrallah and all martyrs remain living consciences, awakening the nation to greater unity, hope, and love for the land, identity, and justice. He recalled Nasrallah's unwavering stance against oppression and highlighted his ultimate sacrifice as a symbol of truth and loyalty.
Berri concluded by reaffirming steadfastness in the face of challenges, stating that the martyrs' legacy would remain alive until the very end, ensuring the protection of Lebanon's dignity, peace, and sovereignty. He stated that there are no endings, only beginnings, and affirmed that Nasrallah's spirit would remain until the end to preserve Lebanon, ward off strife, protect human dignity, and safeguard civil peace, reflecting the ongoing struggle against what he termed as absolute evil, Israel.
