Cabinet Convenes at Baabda Palace to Review Security, Reconstruction, and Financial Files

Baabda: The Council of Ministers on Thursday convened its regular session at 10:00 a.m. at Baabda Palace, chaired by President Joseph Aoun, in the presence of Prime Minister Nawaf Salam and ministers. The session was preceded by a bilateral meeting between Presidents Aoun and Salam, during which political, security, and economic developments were discussed, along with items on the agenda.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the cabinet is reviewing a 38-item agenda, led by a presentation from the Army Command of its monthly report on the plan to confine weapons across all Lebanese areas, in implementation of Cabinet Decision No. 1 dated August 5, 2025, and related decisions. The agenda also includes a presentation by the Ministry of Environment outlining the reference framework for methodologies and mechanisms of intervention within the reconstruction process.

Additionally, the agenda lists the Ministry of Finance's request to approve the draft law on the final accounts of the general budget and annexed budgets for 2021, alongside agreements, draft decrees, appointments, staffing matters, and other routine and urgent items, ahead of appropriate decisions.
