Beirut: Within the framework of the ongoing cooperation between the Lebanese Ministry of Agriculture and the Arab Center for the Studies of Arid Zones and Dry Lands (ACSAD), Caretaker Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Abbas Hajj Hassan, held a joint work meeting at the ministry's headquarters with a delegation from the organization, headed by ACSAD Director General Dr. Naser Eddin Al Obaid, alongside several officials and experts from both sides.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the meeting began with a welcoming speech by Minister Hajj Hassan, who emphasized the importance of the strategic partnership between the Ministry and ACSAD. He acknowledged the vital role played by ACSAD in supporting the Lebanese agricultural sector and enhancing joint Arab action in this field. The Minister also underscored the necessity of bolstering agricultural cooperation amidst the current challenges facing Lebanon's agricultural sector.
Dr. Naser Eddin Al-Obeid highlighted the priority of enhancing food security in the region and expressed ACSAD's unwavering support for the Ministry of Agriculture's projects. He affirmed the organization's commitment to rehabilitating agricultural lands damaged by recent conflicts.
The discussions reportedly focused on enhancing cooperation between the two entities, with an emphasis on developing joint projects to advance the Lebanese agricultural sector.
