Beirut: Caretaker Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, on Monday convened a series of high-level meetings at the Grand Serail, amid mounting anticipation of a ceasefire agreement to end hostilities affecting Lebanon. Following his meeting with Prime Minister Mikati, MP Simon Abi Ramia expressed optimism about ongoing negotiations, highlighting Mikati and Speaker Nabih Berri's efforts in representing Lebanon in the talks. According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Abi Ramia conveyed a positive atmosphere in Lebanon, noting that the country has agreed to proposals presented by the United States and France. He revealed that U.S. envoy, Amos Hochstein, was scheduled to arrive in Lebanon on Tuesday for discussions with Mikati and Berri, with the expectation of visiting Israel to obtain its final response. Hochstein emphasized the potential breakthrough, suggesting that an agreement could be announced from Paris if negotiations continue positively. Abi Ramia lauded France's role in the negotiations, describing their c ontributions as 'serious, effective, and productive.' Meanwhile, Prime Minister Mikati also engaged with MP Mohammad Sleiman and a delegation of Arab tribes, municipal leaders, and representatives from border villages. Their discussions centered on the hardships caused by ongoing Israeli attacks, including displacement and destruction, with Sleiman highlighting the need for equitable aid distribution. In a separate meeting, Mikati welcomed a delegation from Sidon, including political, spiritual, and community leaders. MP Osama Saad, speaking on behalf of the group, called for increased state support for displaced residents and those affected by Israeli aggression in the south. Saad emphasized the necessity of resources for those in shelters and homes, stressing the importance of national and social cohesion during these challenging times. Additionally, Mikati met with a delegation from the Insurance Control Commission, led by Nadim Haddad, to discuss the commission's activities and the challenges facing Leb anon's insurance sector.
